Flash a port ROM
By softbrick · From NewbiesTeam, for the GT 20 Pro
Port ROMs are flashed on top of the stock base firmware. Get the base firmware and the ROM from the ROMs tab (Flashable firmware and Port ROMs).
Warning
Flashing a port ROM erases your data and can cause a bootloop, or a brick if a step is skipped. Port ROMs are community builds with no support from the manufacturer. Follow the steps in order.
1. Before you start
- OrangeFox (OFOX) recovery installed, see OFOX flash.
- The base ROM: XOS 15.1.2.180 is recommended for modern releases.
- The port ROM zip, on the phone.
- A backup of your files, because data is formatted twice.
2. Flash
- Flash the base ROM in OFOX recovery.
- Format data in recovery: type yes and format.
- Reboot to system. Once it boots and everything looks fine, reboot to recovery again.
- If it boots into the base recovery instead of OFOX recovery, press Reboot bootloader and flash OFOX again, see OFOX flash.
- Flash the port ROM, then format data again.
- Reboot to system and enjoy.
Modern port ROMs already include Fenrir, so there is no need to flash it separately (and flashing Fenrir manually on a port ROM requires a patched recovery first).
